We are a small team. We read everything that comes in. We try to respond to everything that deserves a response.
If you are looking for medical advice for a specific symptom or condition, we are not able to give it — please see a healthcare professional. Everything else, we will try to help with.
Use the right inbox and you will hear back faster
We have different inboxes for different things, and each one is managed by a different person. Using the right one means your message goes directly to someone who can actually deal with it.
You found something wrong in an article
This is the most important inbox we have. If a fact is wrong, a drug dose is out of date, a red-flag symptom is missing, or something reads in a way that could mislead a patient — please tell us.
Tell us the title of the article, the specific thing you believe is wrong, and (if you have one) a source or reason. We will acknowledge within five working days and investigate. If the correction is confirmed, we update the article and publish a correction note.
You do not need to be a clinician to use this inbox. Readers catch things that reviewers miss. We are glad when they do.
You want to write for us or review for us
To write for Ilerada: Tell us briefly who you are, your background, and one or two article ideas you would like to pitch. We commission in advance, so pitching does not guarantee a commission — but we read everything and respond to work that fits what we are building.
To join the clinical reviewer panel: Tell us your full name, the regulatory body you are registered with and your registration number, your primary area of clinical expertise, and your current role. We will reply within ten working days. You can read more about what reviewing involves on our Clinical Reviewers page.
You have a general question about Ilerada
For anything that does not fit the other inboxes — a question about the site, feedback on an article, a suggestion for a topic we should cover, or just something you want to say. We aim to reply to emails that need a reply within five working days.
You have a question about your data or privacy
Our Data Protection Officer handles all privacy and data-protection enquiries, including requests to access, correct or delete your personal data under the Nigeria Data Protection Act. See our Privacy Policy for full details of your rights.
You are a journalist or researcher
Please write to the general inbox with “Media enquiry” in your subject line. Include your name, your organisation, your deadline, and what you are working on. We try to respond to media enquiries within two working days.
We are happy to connect journalists with Ilerada reviewers for expert comment — please ask. We do not offer exclusive access, off-the-record briefings, or pre-publication article access.
You want to partner with us or advertise
Commercial and partnership enquiries are handled at Cormen group level, not through the Ilerada editorial team. This is intentional — it keeps our editorial and commercial operations separate. See How We Are Funded for what kinds of partnerships we accept and what we do not.
You want to report a serious concern
If you believe Ilerada has published content that poses an immediate risk to public health, or that we have significantly misrepresented our editorial or funding practices, please write to editorial@ilerada.com with the subject line “Urgent: editorial concern”. We treat these messages with priority.
What we cannot help with
We cannot give personal medical advice. If you have a health concern, please see a registered Nigerian healthcare professional — a doctor, nurse, pharmacist, CHEW or midwife. If it is urgent, please go to the nearest hospital or call your local emergency number. We are a health information service, not a clinical one, and there is an important difference. See our Medical Disclaimer.
We cannot recommend a specific hospital, clinic, doctor or pharmacy. We do not have the information to assess whether a facility or individual is right for your situation.
We cannot provide a diagnosis or interpret your test results. Not by email, not in the comments, not anywhere. Again — please see a healthcare professional.
